What is the problem of Guryong village?
In the late 1980s, The Seoul city was demolished slum. Pardonably, That people move into the Guryong village. Initially, 2500 people was inhabited. But now about 1240 people have inhabit Guryong village.
The Guryong village is an unlicensed shack, So, Guryong village people have not resident registration. And pay not residence tax.
Also, more than 50 percentage of people’ income are less than 1 million won.
I would like ask them. I mean, why do you insist on Seoul? How about a provincial city? Seoul, price is too expensive. If Guryong village people move to other place, they become well enriched.

When Guryong village is development, it will be similar Gepo-dong. So the city of Seoul can not abandon one of development projects.

I heard that the government want to make design city. But there is not good design place. So they want to change that place. I am not sure but anyway the goverment's way for GURYONG VILLAGE is absoultely bad.
답글삭제I can agree with your opinion. Actually, I can't understand both sides. Why residents lived 20 years without any permission? Why Seoul want to make apaartment and kick them out? I think that there is much to be said on both sides.
답글삭제Yeah, my group was talking about the same thing. Apparently they can't really afford to live in Seoul. Still, there are probably more places they could work in Seoul than in less populated city.
